Meeting at NITI Aayog

The inaugural meeting of the Collaborative Consortium on Critical Minerals for Sustainable Energy Transition (3C-SET) convened key leaders from policy, research, academia, industry, and civil society to formally launch the consortium and reach consensus on its vision and operational structure. NITI Aayog endorsed the initiative, noting its importance in addressing critical mineral supply-demand gaps, promoting circular economy solutions, enabling robust data-driven policy advocacy, and strengthening ESG standards in the sector. Priority focus areas include localized value chain development, risk reduction in supply dependencies, second-life applications, strategic demand modelling, and ethical sourcing. Members committed to finalizing the Charter, forming thematic working groups and a steering committee, organizing joint research and expert roundtables, and building an ACPET-hosted dedicated web platform for consortium communications and resources.
